Military Service and Leadership Program

Summary

A partnership of UCA Orange County, a chapter of United Chinese Americans, the national federation of Chinese American communities, and the National Organization of Asian American Veterans (NOAAV), a 501(c)(3) led by Asian American veterans and dedicated to serving the nation's more than 310,000 Asian American veterans and honoring their historic contributions.

Our Mission

To inspire a new generation of Asian American youth to serve the nation. By educating families, encouraging young people, preparing candidates, and mentoring future leaders, we build enduring pathways to military service, the service academies, and public life — strengthening America's forces with the talent and patriotism of our community, and securing our community's rightful place in the American story.

What the Program Does

  • Inform — free bilingual seminars for youth and parents on military service pathways, the service academies, ROTC, and the educational and career benefits of service, including congressional nomination guidance, always free and open to the public.

  • Prepare — entrance-exam and fitness-assessment preparation, application workshops, and one-on-one mentoring by veterans from NOAAV's network.

  • Connect — visits to military installations, veterans memorials, and civic institutions; engagement with congressional offices, academy admissions volunteers, and official academy programs.

  • Honor — youth service projects that preserve and share the legacy of Asian American veterans — memorial visits, oral histories, and public education — in the tradition of NOAAV's national mission.
